In Volunteering Ireland we passionately believe that volunteers can change the world, our work enables volunteer involvement and engagement at societal, organisational and individual level. As a national volunteer development organisation we work to inspire, promote, support and celebrate volunteering in all its forms. We are part of an international community of practice working in this field.
This newsletter is distributed quarterly by email to members of Volunteering Ireland. If you are interested in becoming a member of Volunteering Ireland, or if you are a member and would like to submit information and requests, email us at info@volunteeringireland.ie. We are always looking for interesting stories for this quarterly publication so we encourage our members to submit articles that relate to volunteering and active citizenship in Ireland or overseas.

Upcoming conference to examine the value of volunteering
"The Value of Volunteering: Its Economic, Social and Political Impact" is organised by Volunteering Ireland in association with PAVMI (the Professional Association of Volunteer Managers Ireland). This day-long event will feature speakers examining the impact of volunteering. Workshops will cover the European Year of Volunteering, IT for Volunteer Managers, and more.

Volunteering Ireland to host prestigious international volunteer conference
Volunteering Ireland has successfully bid to host the 22nd IAVE World Volunteer Conference in Dublin in 2012. The theme of this international conference will look at the relationship between volunteering and human rights.

The Arthur Guinness Fund is open for applications from social entrepreneurs around Ireland until the 31st of October.
